London Quality Matters Group

London quality matters

The London quality matters group is a pan London group working with NHS London to deliver the quality agenda and initiatives relating to nursing and midwifery. They review the key quality initiatives being implemented across London and ensure the initiatives are achieved at a local level to ensure best practice across London.

Members include acute, community and mental health care providers. The group includes a representative from NHS London and all Trusts within London are invited to join the group.

What are we tasked with?

  • To explore ways of delivering the quality agenda and share this information across all London Trusts.

  • To implement projects relating to quality initiated by NHS London / Department of Health.
  • To receive updates on quality initiatives / projects being undertaken by NHS London and discuss how these can be implemented at a local level.
  • To receive updates from individual Trusts on the initiatives and their implementation.
  • To ensure national consultations are communicated to the group who, as part of their remit, are encouraged to respond e.g. the review of the Essence of Care consultation.
  • To maintain a London-wide quality database based on Essence of Care to be accessed by all group members and reviewed by the group a minimum of twice a year.
  • To provide feedback to NHS London on the quality initiatives as / when required.
  • To ensure the information obtained during meetings is reported back to Trusts / local level for both information and action.
