In GP practices

Almost 95 per cent of GP practices are able to send digital prescriptions with over 60 per cent of pharmacies able to receive them. This reduces the chance of prescription errors, since it reduces the need for pharmacists to re-key information from paper prescriptions into their own computer, and also reduces the administrative burden on pharmacists.

• 90 per cent of GP practices now have the ability to book outpatient appointments using Choose and Book, and all hospitals in London can receive bookings electronically
• Close to 100 per cent of GP IT systems are supported under the GP System of Choice initiative.
