Community and mental health migrate to RiO 5
All London community and mental health trusts using RiO from CSE Healthcare have upgraded to the latest version of the software, version 5.
The system, designed by clinicians, is intuitive to use and enables clinicians to spend more time with patients in 29 community and seven mental health trusts.
New features include: quicker access to caseloads as they are easier to navigate; the ability to book appointments directly and manage outcomes more easily; create, read, edit and update progress notes, which saves time and improves clinical accuracy; access to more reports and forms.
NHS London worked closely with supplier BT to rollout the RiO system in each trust as part of a drive to introduce electronic patient records across the capital to improve patient care.
Morfydd Williams, deputy director, community and mental health at NHS London, said:
“Introducing electronic patient records to community and mental health services in London has been a real success story and has transformed the way community and mental health professionals operate in the capital.
"More than 55,000 NHS London mental health specialists use RiO daily to improve patient care.
"Electronic records allow them to be more efficient and effective with patients as they can always prepare in advance of appointments and therefore provide the best possible care.
“The next version of RiO software will take this to the next level and allows clinicians from different trusts to share the same records.”
Work has already started on this version which will be the first step in the development of an integrated care solution.
It will enable the sharing of patient care records across trusts which is particularly important for London's highly mobile population.
