LPfIT's RiO team wins E-Health Insider Award

Congratulations to LPfIT's RiO team for winning the E-Health Insider Award for Excellence in Major Healthcare IT Development at the E-Health Insider Awards held in association with BT.

The award was sponsored by Oracle Healthcare and was awarded to the London and Southern Programmes for IT for ‘Improving patient care using the RiO community and mental health electronic patient record system'.

RiO is now being used by 29 of London's community health trusts and seven mental health trusts, enabling healthcare professionals to access accurate, up-to-date and secure electronic patient records around the clock.

Kevin Jarrold, NHS London's Chief Information Officer, said: “The award is a terrific recognition of what the RiO team has achieved in London. RiO has been a real success story and demonstrates the benefits that electronic patient records can bring to patient care.

"It has been a real team effort and I would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who has been involved in helping RiO make such an impact in community health and mental health.”

This is the second time that RiO has won at the E-Health Insider Awards as last year NHS Waltham Forest's implementation of RiO won it the award for Healthcare IM&T Team of the Year.
